let's get funky...can you feel it?

Yesterday, I was at AUP the whole day. "Why?", you ask? I got invited by Bheng to play for Fred's performance at a concert there. I couldn't say no to Bheng, I owe her a lot. It was so last minute but Fred was still an ass because he came 6 hours late to rehearsals which just led us to changing the songs we planned on playing. Then we ended up with him playing the guitar and me playing bass. So, AUP got a set of new speakers and amps for there sound system. It's pretty good shit, only that the technicians were fucking stupid!! I couldn't hear myself play. I asked them to increase the volume on the monitor speakers. But no, they didn't. Stupid stupid stupid technicians!! They can't even understand me, it's simple shit and they can't do it. Besides that, they couldn't mix for shit. The volume of the performer's instruments weren't balanced. Anyhoo, I managed to get around with it. We dragged along some percusionists. Haha!! There were a couple of good performers. Some were a bit funny though. I respect their talent and superb skills so I won't share what was so funny. Hehe!! You'll have to ask me personally for that. Then last Saturday, I went jamming with Aaron. Yep, just the two of us, maybe because I was too eager to play (It's like Jet and July jamming together, only this is drums and bass). I just planned on playing for half an hour because the rental at the studio is expensive. We ended up playing for an hour with Kuya J tagging along. I just promised him that I'll pay the other half of the payment later on. Hehe!! We played some jazz, surf rock and rock 'n roll. After that, we went to his place, I got to borrow "Spice of Life" by d'sound. Great shit!! The songs never left my playlist once it got there. Haha!! I'm also looking for old albums of Jamiroquai and Incognito. I'm dying for 'em, so anyone who has them, tell me. I'll borrow it just for one day. Pretty pretty pretty please? With cheese on it!! Hehe!! Oh yeah, we're planning on forming a new Acid Jazz or Funk Jazz band with Aaron. The thing is, we need a bitchin' jazz guitar player and singer. May come in one piece but two could be better. Today, I barely did anything. I just slept, watched a box with strange pictures moving, ate and took some more sleep. I had a post earlier but Blogger was too fucked to put it on, so I had to retype everything all over again.
