If you live in Laguna, you better be happy because you are so fucking lucky! I just mastered the trick on getting free internet access and I'm going to share it with you. Well, it's not completely free but you'll get more than what you paid for. For the past two months, I have downloaded over four gigabytes of data, hundreds of hours of fun and loads of information. By the way, this applies to dial-up users only.
First off, you buy an internet pre-paid card. Pacific Internet's e-volve to be exact, you can get one as low as P100. Make sure that the one you are buying is the Laguna card or else it won't work. They have this promo that when you log-in between 11:00PM to 8:00AM, you get free internet access as long as you used the free access username.
Now go to the properties of the connection (while not connected) then go to the options tab. Put on these settings:
- Redial attempts: as high as you want (somewhere around 50)
- Time between redial attempts: 1 second
- Then enable redialing if the line is dropped
Wait for the time to reach 10:50PM or something (as long as it's before 11:00 but for safety reasons, you're safer to be early since your clock isn't synchronised to theirs) then connect to the net using e-volve. Remember to use the free access username (refer to the instructions). Leave it to dial and redial until it succesfully connects. Why 10:50? Those connected right before their servers reach 11:00 somehow register in the database as the regular access username. Therefore, if you remain connected until 8:00AM onwards, you will still get free access. In the promotional material, it says that you will get disconnected at 8:00 but when you do this trick, you don't.
Let's say you fell asleep. Don't panic, you still have a chance. Connect the same way as long as it is not after 8:00AM. At around 7:45, you will get cut off but remember that it will redial when the line is dropped. You will get connected if it is still before 8:00. Now, you get disconnected at 7:45 because there is a long list of PC's to disconnect. The servers can't do it all at the same time so they have to give a buffer time. This is just a matter of chance but you're most likely to get connected again. If you are last in the queue, you might not be able to connect again since the server is done with the cut-off time.
Since you're now connected with free access, do not disconnect the connection if you are still going to use it. Otherwise, you won't get to connect with the free access anymore until 11:00PM. If your line gets dropped, you're just unlucky. If you get dropped most of the times, contact your phone line provider. It means that the clarity of your landline connection is bad.
How do I know that it will work on your PC? They also had this promo last summer and I was using my old laptop (Acer). They launched the promo again and now, I'm using my new one (Compaq). I forgot until when the promo is but I'm pretty sure they'll relaunch it again.
So that pretty much covers it. If your mom complains about the line being busy all the time, just pretend you didn't hear anything. If somebody wants to call, ask first if it is really that important. That's the crisis we're having in the house right now. My mom's complaining about me being on the net 24/7. They shouldn't have disconnected the other line.
Don't think that I'm advertising for Pacific Internet. I just love them for being stupid.
