I Love The Rain
Mood: Cold
Music: U2 - How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb
Since it's been raining everyday lately (yeah, I miss the sun already) and the winds are cooler, I don't use the AC anymore. Actually, I'm conserving on energy because the last time I saw the electric bill it was more than ten grand. The highest we had I believe. I turn off my second monitor when not in use. Since we're talking about Rain, I love taking walks in the rain the only bad part is there are some things I don't like about it. Like when my wallet, things I'm carrying or only my feet gets wet and when the rain stops when I haven't had enough (it suddenly becomes cold).
I also have two rants. First one, road deterioration. Cheap short-term plans for most roads are showing their age limits. Spine road is now aging and the number of potholes are increasing in size and numbers. It needs rehabilitation. That's for the private sector. For the government, as usual, the beuraucracy and corruption exists everywhere. It is very evident in the South Super Highway (South Luzon Expressway) that the thin asphalt overlayed on the cracking concrete below is deteriorating too. It seems that every segment of the lane in between the shoulder and the one near the island.
Second, the school's process for personals declaration is very annoying and it's barely even followed. I think that personal items like my laptop should be declared once per term where the item should be labeled or something since this is done on all the laptops, LCD projectors and the likes that are school property. Why? Because I'm asked to fill up for this slip everytime I bring my laptop which is almost everyday. But the thing is, doing that doesn't come close to usefulness because whenever I go out, they don't ask for this so-called "PDS". What if my laptop was stolen or if I stole something? It would have no use since the guards don't check the things that come out. The system is flawed.
Mr. Ronnie mentioned some proposals for fund-raising projects for the RSO. One of them was running the canteen, which includes the use of their facilities, for one complete day. It seems interesting. I want to take care of the billing and order processing thing. I like the way how CityU (HK) does it. I want to experiment and see if an IT student's solution and view is better than the dysfunctional management of La Casita.
Today was our recollection. I really didn't plan on going or going late at least because of the poor planning. Francis and I was told to take care of food matters when it was just a few days left.
